Bloomberg reports that:
China’s plan to impose anti-dumping duties on some auto imports from the U.S. is fair and based on law, Ministry of Commerce spokesman Shen Danyang said at a regular briefing in Beijing today.
The price of imported U.S. vehicles has been falling since May, prompting the ministry’s decision to levy duties on those products, he said. The investigation, which was carried out at the request of the auto industry in China, found the imports hurt domestic companies, he said.
